Bola Ahmed Tinubu Is Sick

Tinubu

Rumours amd imnuendos were flying around as to why the National leader of the APC and ex- governor of Lagos state was not at any of the rallies of the APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ondo state.

But the Plateau State governor and chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Organisation in Ondo State, Solomon Lalong, has justified the absence of former Lagos State governor and National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, at its rally in Ondo State at the weekend. Lalong said Tinubu could not attend the rally, which came one week ahead of the governorship election because of ill health.

The Plateau State governor was at the Presidential Villa yesterday, where he met with President Muhammadu Buhari to brief him on the outcome of the event.

Tinubu and three of the APC governors in the South-West were absent at the campaign rally held in Akure, which President Buhari attended. The governors are Akinwumi Ambode (Lagos), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo) and Rauf Aregbosola (Osun). Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Lalong said:

“We have finished our campaign. You saw what happened at the grand finale. We are not in doubt that APC will win the election in Ondo. It is the other parties that are scared of the APC and not APC being scared of other parties.

“We have come to thank the president for going to Ondo for the grand finale rally. There was not a problem. We explained their absence. They sent in their apologies. You heard what happened there. As far as we are concerned, the president, who is the leader of the party, was at the rally. The national chairman was also there, as far as we are concerned, everybody was there.

“To the party, their absence did not make any difference. If a leader was not there and he has said he was not there because of ill-health, we have prayed that God will heal him,” he said.
