Nnamani |
One-time Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani has declared that his joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) was neither pecuniary nor stomach-inspired but in the greater interest of the Igbo nation.
Nnamani made the statement weekend after being pronounced the South-East leader of the APC at the SouthEast Stakeholders’ meeting of the party held at the Imo International Convention Centre, Owerri, in the Imo State capital.
While advising that Ndigbo need more of their leaders at the National leadership of the APC where decisions are made, and at the National Assembly and other strategic areas, Nnamani called for a return to the politics of ideas instead of the pervasive politics of abuse and name-calling.
Cautioning Igbo leaders to be more circumspect in the approach to national politics he said: “Ndigbo do not have the ingredients for opposition politics. We do not have the media or business or money to play opposition politics, nevertheless, we won’t ask for handouts.”
