There are many personalities in Nigerian politics that can easily pass as serial presidential election Campagner, one of such persons is the Turaki Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President.
This time a call has been put to him to throw his political hat into the race come 2019. The National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, made this call while Speaking to New Telegraph, Aniebonam said Atiku has the capacity to govern and redesign Nigeria if given the opportunity to steer the ship of state.
His words: “Honestly, the former vice president has the capacity to govern Nigeria. I look forward to seeing Atiku coming to head New Nigeria Peoples Party and we will support him with our experts’ opinion on how to redesignNigeria, using the platform of the Nile.
What Nigerians want now is a new Nigeria and you can only achieve that through a platform, which is a political platform with that name ‘New Nigeria,’ “Atiku should contest the 2019 presidency.
We are inviting Atiku to come and head the New Nigeria Peoples Party so that we will tell him how to restructure this country. We will tell him what should be done and we will get the presidency through what Donald Trump did in the United States.
Trump is not a magician; he knew what the Americans wanted and he took advantage of that. The person who should emerge president in 2019 should be somebody who has the capacity to address the problems of Nigeria. “Atiku has the capacity and if
he does that under the NNPP, fine, but if he does it on another platform, we cannot guarantee it.
You can see that there is asought of revolution across the world looking at Brexit in Britain and what happened in United States with Trumps victory. I think the next port of call is Nigeria and Atiku has the capacity, but it has to be through the New Nigeria
Peoples Party. Every Nigerian is looking forward toward a new Nigeria.”
