Fayose and Kashamu |
Following the announcement of Ekiti state governor Ayodele Fayose as the new chairman of the PDP Governors' forum the Senator representing Ogun East, Buruji Kashamu, Sunday faulted the choice of Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’
Forum.
To him, the emergence of Fayose was a misnomer and will further polarise the PDP and destroy the party.
Kashamu, made this known through a statement he issued in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, urged those that chose the Ekiti governor to have a rethink in the interest of the party.
He said Fayose’s conduct and utterances will widen division in the party, with members using such as alibi to cross-carpet, adding that he was aware that more PDP Senators and House of Representatives members were already consulting to dump the party.
According to him, the Ekiti governor had always wanted to be the PDP Governors’ Forum chairman and that was why he allegedly had some resentment towards Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State upon the latter’s emergence in 2005.
