Finally, Rev.Father Mbaka Opens Up On Judges' Arrest Controversy

Mbaka

The Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministries, Emene, Enugu
State, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, yesterday exonerated himself from a recent media report that accused him of advising the Federal Government to arrest more judges in continuation of the clampdown on corrupt judges in the country.

The fiery Roman Catholic priest, who expressed dismay at the report, spoke while delivering a sermon during a special service to mark the opening of the 2016/2017 legal year organised by the Enugu State judiciary.

While he prayed for all judges, he also admonished them to be upright in the discharge of their duties as the last hope of the common man. “For me, judges should be beyond corruption, because they are like god; if they make a mistake in sentencing an innocent man, the person will die in jail.

They can save life, they can destroy life. The judiciary should not be merchandised; nobody should think he can purchase justice. “I raised the question about the arrest; are we sure that the judges arrested are guilty of what they are accused of? For me, if judges could be arrested let them be well examined.”
