Arsenal Set To Offload Alexi Sanchez, See His Possible Replacement
Arsenal have identified Dortmund forward Marcos Reus as their number one replacement for Alexis Sanchez should the Chilean leave the club next summer.
Sanchez, 27, has 18 months to run on his existing deal at the Emirates and club chiefs have been locked in talks with his agent for over a year.
The Chilean is demanding in excess of £250,000-a-week to stay with the Gunners and has big money offers from China to use as leverage in negotiations.
While the Gunners remain hopeful of keeping Sanchez,
they won’t to cover all bases and club scouts have filed glowing reports of Dortmund forward Reus, according to the Daily Mail.
The German has a long history of injury problems in the
Bundesliga but he reminded everyone of his quality with a hat-trick on his first appearance for the club in over six months in November’s 8-4 win against Legia Warsaw.
Reus is thought to be open to moving to the Premier League, although Arsenal’s preferred choice remains keeping
Sanchez, reports The Mail.
