The latest FIFA ranking that placed the Super Eagles of Nigeria 50th in the world seems to have been recieved positively by the players.
The duo of Mikel Obi of Chelsea and goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi were the first to react. With Mikel reacting through a tweet on his tweeter handle, Akpeyi under hand commented in an interview he granted to Supersports.
“Whoa, that’s great we are coming up strongly
on the ladder,” Akpeyi told Supersport.
“Of course, the good performance in the 2018
Fifa World Cup campaign must have helped us
greatly.
“We must now continue winning in other
matches to be able to sustain and further
impro ve in subsequent rankings.”

The Eagles under coach Gernot Rohr have won
three consecutive games, the sweetest being
against Algeria who were previously the number
one ranked team in Africa but have now dropped
to the fourth place.
