Garba Lawal Writes Off Gernot Rohr's Performance, Says He Is Lucky

Garba Lawal

Ex- Super Eagles utility player Garba Lawai has written off the performance of Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr, saying he is just being lucky with his results.
Despite recording a 100 per cent since he took over the reins as handler of the Super Eagles, the player popular called Chindo and NFF Technical Committee member, Garba Lawal has underplayed Gernot Rohr’s competence on the job, saying that the results came by luck.

Lawal made this known why speaking to an online medium, footballive.com, Lawal said he does not think the Eagles’ run of three wins out of three games with Rohr makes his Nigerian predecessors less competent as he ascribed the results churned out so far by the Eagles to ‘nature of football and luck’. Rohr was appointed the substantive Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles replacing Sunday Oliseh, who resigned. Oliseh, a former Super
Eagles Captain took the role after the sacking of Stephen Keshi in 201.
Speaking recently, the former Eagles midfielder said good teams could get bad results and in the same vein an average team can post very good results. He insists the coast is not yet clear and it might be too early to start singing the praises of the 63-year-old German Coach. Nigeria pipped Tanzania 1-0 in a dead rubber Afcon qualifier on Rohr’s competitive debut as Technical Adviser of the Eagles. The team subsequently won their World Cup qualifying matches against Zambia and Algeria.
