How FG Killed 631 IPOB Members In 12 Months-Groups
Groups comprising religious bodies, students’ associations, youths and women associations, yesterday, threatened to merge with the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, if the Federal Government failed to release its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, unconditionally from prison as ordered by the courts.
The groups which attended the meeting, include Igbo Women Assembly, Igbo Youth Movement, South East Christian Network, Igbo Traders Association, Igbo Students Union, CAN, PFN,
Umuada Alaigbo, World Igbo Congress, Niger Delta Youth Forum, South East Professionals, Igbo in Academia, Eastern Nigerian Congress, South South Youth Congress and Igbo Diaspora
Organization.
The groups, from the South-East and South- South zones, met at the home of the National Chairman of the Igbo Women Assembly, IWA, Chief (Mrs) Marie Okwo. They said that 631 IPOB members were killed by the Federal Government this year alone, adding that some were kidnapped in hospital and
murdered. Lady Ifeoma Nwankwo, Chair-person of the Onitsha Fish Dealers Association, who addressed reporters after the meeting, described the situation as “unacceptable.” She said that Mazi Chidiebere Onwudiwe was allegedly kidnapped by the DSS in June, alleging a plot to bomb churches and computer village by the DSS.
