Basketball: Stephen Curry Picks His MVP, Shockingly Not Lebron Nor Westbrook

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was pragmatic in his reasoning in choosing James Harden for MVP over Russell Westbrook or LeBron James.

Harden and Westbrook have been leading the talks when it comes to who will be crowned the NBA MVP this year.

For two-time reigning MVP Curry, the choice is not that difficult - go with Harden.

"You kind of have to reward the better team, I would think, record-wise. That's just kind of going in the history of the MVP award. So, I think James will probably edge him out just off of that," Curry said Monday on The Dan Patrick Show, via NBC Sports.

Even though both Harden and Westbrook have strong cases to take home the title, the Houston Rockets have a 46-21 record compared to the Westbrook's Oklahoma City Thunder (37-29).

However, James and Kawhi Leonard's names have also been dropped into the MVP race, and the latter's San Antonio Spurs were only a half game behind Curry's Warriors for the best record in the NBA entering Monday.

Curry's choice is especially interesting considering it was Harden who famously complained he should have won MVP in 2015 when the Warriors star did.
