Meet The Young Nigerian Goalkeeper Nicknamed 'African Buffon' Making Wave In Europe

David Nwokolor

A young Nigerian goalkepper David Nwokolor nicknamed "African Buffon" has made the list of the best goalkeppers in Bosnia after the conclusion of the first round of league games in Bosnia Herzegovina.

The 20 year old Nwokolor is on loan to Bosnian side Vitez from HNK Rijeka of Croatia, and his fine form has not gone unnoticed by keen followers of the Bosnian league.

So far he has kept goal in 12 league games, and has conceded just 8 goals with six clean sheets to his name, a record that makes him the shot stopper with the highest number of clean sheet.

Nicknamed “African Buffon” by the press in Bosnia, was voted alongside Dalibor Kozac of table toppers Zrinjski and Bojan Pavlovic of Sarajevo.

Already his fine form has lead to talks of a possible call up to the senior Nigeria national team for upcoming friendly games against Egypt and Ivory Coast next year.
